Nazım Hikmet Şiirinde Gizli Tarih

I was hoping to read days of Nazim in USSR & Moscow but this book dealt with his early career, his days in Turkey.The writer tries to find out whom Nazim was impling in his poems. There are many characters from 30s-40s-50s Turkey..many names that I am not interested in and many names that I have never heard, so this book was not a great interest to me...

Book Review: Nazim Hikmet'in son yillari

I find Nazim Hikmet's story a very romantic and sad one. He died far from this county with a great love againt his motherland.Eventhough his country punished him with prisons and exile for many years he expressed his aspiration to the very last moment.

He had romantic affairs with few women, both Turkish and Soviet, he loved, he was loved.

Zekeriya Sertel, exiled Turkish journalist, was with him during his last days in Soviet Union. Read this if you are interested in last days of this great poet&lover.His hopes, disappoitments and confusion against the Soviet system..

Novodevichy Cemetery, @Nazim's

During my various visits to Moscow,I always wanted to visit Nazim Hikmet, unfortunately I did not have time. During my last visit we managed to visit Nazim at Novodevichy Cemetery.He was lying there with his latest wife Vera Tulyakova.














I was hoping to visit Nadejda Alleliyuva's grave also,but the graveyard was so big and since we payed a visit to Novodevichy Monastory before the cemetery we were already tired so everyone wanted to leave.

The biggest grave belongs to Boris Yeltsin, it is the biggest and just in the center that you can not possibly miss.






Novodevichy Monastary is worth visiting also, it is in the list of UNESCO's World Heritage.

Nazim by Can Dundar

After I read parts of Nazim Hikmet's life in three books,2 of them about his relationships and love to Galina and Vera and other one about his days in Azerbaycan I decided to hear the full story from the always-romantic point of view of Can Dundar.

This is a book+DVD documentary. The book infact contains the documentary contents in written form.The musics of the documentary are prepared by Fazil Say. This is a nice,high quality production as all other Can Dundar works.

I bought this book after I read Vera Tulyakova's book on Nazim and their life together.I wanted to get another perspective which is what the book front and back covers promised.
The book turned out to be a stupid and yet funny book.The book has absolutely nothing about Galina&Nazim other than just 5 pages.The very small information in the book is repeated in the book many many times that it became so boring.The book claming to be on Nazim&Galina had even the writer Dursun Ozen's poems,soo funny.Get away this book!

1 exibition 3 books

Yapi Kredi Arts Center hosted a great exibition,materials of Nazim Hikmet during his life in Moscow.It was a nice one,if you are interested in history,old books,old photos,old stuff...

The photos of these materials are published in a book " Şehrime Ulaşamadan Bitirirken Yolumu
Nazım ve Vera Moskova'dan İstanbul'a". If you missed the exibition,you can still see the items,but on photo this time.




After the exibition,I went to the bookstore of Yapi Kredi Publishing which is in the sama building with the exibition hall,I bought two books.

The first one is Bahtiyar Ol Nazim, it is memoirs of Vera Tulyakova with Nazim Hikmet,I liked this book very much,it tells how much they loved each other,the problems they faced during soviet times...etc.It was nice to read.

The second book is " Bakü'ye Gidiyorum Ay Balam Nazım Hikmet'in Azerbaycan'daki İzleri (1921- 1963)",it is more about literature history, the poems of Nazim and its effects in Soviet/Azeri/World literature.It was kinda boring for me...
